Amino Acid
The monomer unit of peptides and proteins.
Amino acids are the building-block molecules that link together to form peptides and proteins. Twenty standard amino acids, each with a distinct side chain, are encoded genetically; their sequence determines a peptide's structure and how it interacts with receptors.
