Pituitary Somatotroph

The GH-producing pituitary cell.

Somatotrophs are anterior-pituitary cells that synthesize and secrete growth hormone. They express GHRH and ghrelin (GHS-R1a) receptors, making them the cellular target of secretagogue research.
