DPP-4 (Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4)
An enzyme that cleaves many peptides.
Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 is a serine exopeptidase that cleaves dipeptides from the N-terminus of many peptides, including GHRH analogs and incretins. Resistance to DPP-4 cleavage - engineered via amino-acid substitutions - is a common determinant of a peptide's stability and half-life.
