Bacteriostatic Water
Water with a preservative for reconstitution.
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing a small amount of preservative (commonly 0.9% benzyl alcohol) that inhibits bacterial growth, allowing a reconstituted stock to be stored and sampled over time in laboratory work.
