Selank Reconstitution Guide
Part of the full Selank guide - a synthetic tuftsin-analogue heptapeptide reference compound, identity-verified with a COA on every vial.
In brief
This section describes laboratory reconstitution of lyophilized Selank for in-vitro and preclinical research handling only. It covers the dilution principle, an ordered preparation sequence, and storage. It is not a human dosing protocol and contains no personal-use guidance.

The concentration principle
Reconstitution converts a known mass of lyophilized Selank powder into a defined-concentration stock solution by dissolving it in a measured volume of bacteriostatic water. Concentration follows directly from mass divided by volume: dissolving a given mass of peptide in a chosen solvent volume yields a stock whose concentration the researcher fixes by selecting that volume. A larger reconstitution volume produces a more dilute stock from the same vial, and a smaller volume produces a more concentrated one, so the volume of bacteriostatic water is the single variable the researcher uses to set the working concentration for downstream in-vitro assays. Selank's stated molecular weight of 751.87 g/mol (C33H57N11O9) is the conversion factor when expressing that concentration in molar rather than mass-per-volume terms.
Step by step
How Selank is reconstituted
A bench reference for handling and preparation in an in-vitro research setting. Not a personal dosing protocol.
- 1
Equilibrate the sealed Selank vial and the bacteriostatic water to room temperature before opening, and work in a clean laboratory environment to limit contamination of the stock.
- 2
Decide the target stock concentration for the planned in-vitro assay, then back-calculate the bacteriostatic-water volume from the vial's labeled peptide mass (concentration = mass / volume).
- 3
Draw the calculated volume of bacteriostatic water and introduce it slowly down the inner wall of the vial rather than directly onto the lyophilized powder, to avoid mechanical disruption of the peptide.
- 4
Do not shake; allow the powder to dissolve, swirling gently until the solution is clear and no particulate remains.
- 5
Label the reconstituted vial with the peptide name, the resulting concentration, and the reconstitution date for traceability.
- 6
Store as below and use within the stability window established by the laboratory's own handling validation for this peptide.
